Desert Lavender

Santa Fe, NM must be one of the most underrated cities in the US. It’s challenging to get there—the biggest airport is an hour away in Albuquerque and few places will have direct flights. However, it is worth the hike. Vibrant art galleries, delicious New Mexican food, wide open spaces and magical mesas are just some of the things that I fell in love with while I was there. We were lucky enough to do a hike in Bandolier National Park, do a first Friday tour of the art galleries on Canyon Road, indulge in cheesy flavorful enchiladas at the Pantry Restaurant, and drive down the quirky towns dotting the Turquoise trail. We came here for a wedding, but it was a perfect opportunity to explore America’s Southwest.

The night before the wedding, the bride & groom arranged a private flamenco performance and tapas reception. I opted to wear this structured Nicholas lavender tank top with a pair of perfectly shredded Frame denim jeans to achieve a formal yet casual look. I was a bit nervous about the shredded jeans, to be honest, but they ended up going well with the informal atmosphere at the restaurant, especially with my more sophisticated heels. Speaking of which: snakeskin… the epitome of luxury in adding the perfect amount of texture and print while remaining perfectly neutral. Another amazing thing about these shoes? They are absolutely comfortable with that small platform and slightly thicker heel so by the end of the night, after traipsing down Canyon Road and mingling with friends, my feet still felt like they were in great shape.

So now I ask you: what are your favorite wedding weekend outfits, and how have you been styling for the different events?
